The Research Foundation for the State University of New York Binghamton, NY
Research Associate Oct’11 – Present
• Assessed reliability of lead free solder joints with various electronics packages in a highly accelerated life testing such as temperature cycling, mechanical shock, bend, drop by doing failure mode effect analysis (FMEA) of failed joints using x-ray, cross sectioning, optical microscopy, establishing a correlation between microstructure and reliability of the lead free solder joints
• Developed a surface mount process for an emerging packaging technology by determining the optimum parameters for the printing and reflow process, with the assistance of statistical techniques such as design of experiments (DOE), analysis of variation (ANOVA), which resulted in successful assembly of components on the printed circuit board
Hyundai Construction Equipment India Pvt. Ltd. Pune, INDIA Engineer- Technical Development Jul’10- Aug’11
• Introduced a new product into the manufacturing environment and ensured its successful transition from a prototype phase to high volume manufacturing, by solving process problems and designing tools for assembly, achieving a successful launch for the product with New Product Introduction (NPI) team
• Utilized activity based time study to record task time of assembly stations to find the bottlenecks in the process and improved the design by implementing a new material handling system, which assisted in reducing the cycle time by over 15%
