- Support the installation, interoperability, ground and flight testing of ACSS avionic instruments including TAWS (Terrain Awareness Warning System), TCAS (Traffic and Alert Collision Avoidance System), T2CAS (Traffic and Terrain Collision Avoidance System), Transponder and SafeRouteTM Surveillance Processor for commercial and military aircraft. Responsible for verifying inteded system operation in a lab and aircraft environment, diagnosing, troubleshooting, verifying external signals are properly interfacing with ACSS products, monitoring input/output signal validity, performing unit self-tests, decoding and analyzing built-in tests and analyzing flight data recording to verify system is performing its required function per customer and industry requirements.
- Lead the effort to improve and update System Description Installation Manuals for all ACSS products. Meet with customer services team, applications engineers, certification engineers, function-specific engineers etc. to resolve and incorporate feedback and update SDIMs per new FAA TSO-guidelines and instructions for continued airworthiness.
- Provide support for numerous customers including Airbus, Boeing, HAL, Portuguese Air Force Lockheed Martin P3 program, US Navy L-3 P3 program, SSJ (Thales integrator), ARJ (Rockwell Collins integrator), TAI C130 program, etc.
Systems Development Engineering (July 2003 - Aug 2011)
- Support the development of TAWS, T2CAS, T3CAS (Traffic Terrain Transponder Collision Avoidance System), Aircraft Specific Databases and Aircraft Configurable Databases.
- Responsible for planning, requirements definition, systems development, integration, moderation, verification and validation, maintenance and support of ACSS products.
- Responsible for writing and performing TAWS, TCAS and Transponder ATPs (Acceptance Test Procedures), running regression and robustness testing and reporting results.
- Primary responsibilities include system level testing of real-time embedded software in a lab environment as well as ground and flight testing to demonstrate compliance to customer technical specifications and industry requirements.
- Responsible for TAWS Terrain and Obstacle database integration, moderation and validation.
- Participate with in-house customer audits and follow-up with actions resolution. Knowledgeable with ACSS engineering design and development processes, ACSS Quality Policy, aware of Aerospace AS9100 QMS Standard.
- Assist customer services group diagnose field reported issues by analyzing flight test data, providing technical support, troubleshooting system failures, explaining and justifying system behavior and operation based on system requirements, interface control definition and industry specification.
