Professional Experience
MANUFACTURING PROJECT ENGINEER NOV 2008-AUG 2013
General Motors Powertrain-Pontiac Headquarters

X SGE gage program included establishment of a flexible gage plan with an international site for multiple components and lines. Communication of and sharing knowledge and information across the globe was required. Scope included gaging for block and head components, gage designs for 11 gage stations on each of 2 modules, and trace location determination for 2 CNC systems that check surface finish. Interpretation of head and block part prints and processing information given was required to design and approve solutions. Many times, the information provided would be at an in-process stage, requiring calculation of design risk versus timing.
X LGE gage program included both block and head components. Scope included multiple lines at two sites, learned to make the solutions common and coordinate resources, as well as overcome logistical challenges. In total, almost 3000 gages were delivered to 3 modules each in 2 sites. The head design had 5 different variants, and the block had 2. Detail tracking and keeping pace with new part print and process information versus shipments became a key-over 60 change responses were tracked financially.
X Additional LGE results included a change to rolled thread gage strategy, and scientific study on the effects of different material alloys on gage designs. (Aluminum buildup)
X Fam 0 engine block gage program: designing, approving, testing, troubleshooting, and delivering to customer site-1 line, about 6 full benches with gages and computer programming. (Chevrolet Cruze and Volt)
X Provided troubleshooting support for complex problems at manufacturing plants.
X Involved in cross-functional teams for new engine block programs.
X Proofed and validated guided sequence computer graphics and directions for operator usage
X Established extensive network of suppliers, peers, and buyers
X Developed understanding of how different cultures interact in the workplace
X Participated in new runoff and qualification procedures, Type 1 and 2 gage studies.

PROCESS ENGINEER-ENGINE BLOCKS 2005-NOV. 2008
General Motors Powertrain-Romulus Engine

X Assumed engineering responsibility for the largest V6 machining line in the plant. Block machining-About 9 operators on the line, and 2 shifts coverage. Completed steps and documentation to prepare for and retool applicable transfer stations due to 2 major changes in a model year change.
X Balanced project work completion while providing support to production, utilized multiple shift resources.
X Interpreted and resolved gage problems. Analyzed gage data to facilitate quality moves.
X Redesigned and implemented a broken tool detection system.
X Developed a model year build plan spreadsheet tool to minimize product inventory while satisfying engine line and assembly plant requirements during model year changeover.
X Interfaced wit...
