Position: Senior Geotechnical Engineering Technician & Soils Lab Supervisor
I was responsible for supervising geotechnical field staff. Geotechnical field duties include monitoring land balancing of large development projects, performing density testing on backfill of soils, footing inspections, concrete inspection and testing on construction projects. Lab supervisor responsibilities involve completing all soils lab work including grain size analysis, hydrometers, permeability tests, proctors, Atteberg limits (liquid limits and plastic limits of clay), consolidation testing, soil classification, other specialized testing as necessary. Also, responsible for entering and tracking lab data via Geotechnical program (gINT) and soil boring logs. Radiation Safety officer for entire company, and this includes the licensing and maintenance of nuclear moisture density gauges. Additional project oversight support provided to other CRA departments.
