I hope to acquire a position within a biomedical firm that will provide a fast-paced environment in which I can utilize the skills and knowledge I’ve learned. My young career in the biomedical industry has opened my eyes to the many different fields within this industry and has set me on a hunt to understand every aspect of every job. Virginia Mason Medical Center, Seattle, WA Summer 2011
• Worked as a clinical engineer, helping with the equipment servicing and repair.
• Performed preventative maintenance on the medical equipment daily to ensure quality and safety.
Spiration Inc., Redmond WA Summer 2010
• I was one of two people who developed their new Lung Training Model which helps teach doctors how to successfully use and implant the IBV Valve for treating air leaks in the lungs.
• Gave weekly presentations on the current state of the model and future plans and objectives.
Senior Projects Fall 2012-Spring 2013
• Worked in an interdisciplinary project in which we developed a navigation and guidance system to help visually impaired kayakers, paddling through flat water slalom courses.
o Developed the code needed to run the system and helped with the manufacturing of the device
• Worked with CURE International in creating a Preventative Maintenance program for their hospitals in third world countries.
