• Managed up to thirteen Staff Engineers at various levels of experience while developing a comprehensive training program at a company where none existed. Implemented and maintained a program designed to progressively teach and mentor Staff Engineers through various departments and roles.
• Enhanced employee morale through promotion of a team-based work atmosphere.
Provided assignments of increased responsibility coupled with additional training and performance incentives to encourage a sense of ownership in the overall operation.
• Maintained a high level of quality-driven production, was responsible for, and often exceeded, forty percent of the total company deliverables for a two hundred-plus employee firm.

• Managed all aspects of the engineering of several large projects including

hiring and firing, engineering, client relations, accounts payable, accounts

• Provide mentoring and additional training on a continual basis to contractors,
designers, and drafters involving structural ideas and concerns. Delivered small
group, one-on-one and on-the-job instruction in basic engineering concepts,
construction feasibility and code related issues.
• Increased structural integrity and reduced costs through analysis of the structural steel connections of a project at the Aladdin Casino Hotel in Las Vegas. Made recommendations to the Engineer of Record to limit the different bolt sizes used in construction.
• Designed a 2-story commercial building with structural steel roof attached to
concrete masonry walls. Coordinated between structural steel manufacturers and
masonry contractors to ensure the interface between the 2 systems was structurally adequate for what is now the Polk Professional Center.
• Successfully produced a structural steel request bid for the Dearborn Tower
Project in less than 3 business days. Analyzed the plans and features requested by the client and then used computer modeling from similar completed construction schemes to speed up the estimating for this 50+ story project.
• Researched and put together a proactive plan to renovate a 2-story wood
structure built circa 1925. Brought the entire building to today’s standards in
structural soundness without detracting from the building’s historical significance or architectural appeal.
