Cutting Tool Engineering Assistant Manager (1/2011 – Present)
Perform general management duties such as team member evaluations, section annual operating budget control, development of section annual and long term objectives/targets, executive-level reporting, and resource management for a group of up to 11 members.
• Develop and implement innovative strategies for section and team member short and long term development;
o Develop and have received VP level approval of section 5-yr Plan;
o Expand section headcount and create a new role to improve section project efficiency;
• Establish the strategic direction for North American tooling-related initiatives for Engine, Axle, and Transmission component machining;
• Lead project engineering teams to complete small and large scale ($1.5M to $120M) capital projects that contribute to North American self-reliance, profitability, and the development of leading edge machining methods;
o Originate and develop cylinder bore machining cost improvement project to save >$1/unit, receiving a $1.3M budget with target 38% cost savings with current cost saving projections at 40%; organize and provide leadership for the first U.S. install of a cylinder bore machining process;

Appointed as acting Assistant Manager supervising three to four engineers, which included responsibility for project leadership, operational manpower and budget control, overall section direction and strategy, and technical guidance.
