PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

PACIFIC GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPANY (PG&E) | San Ramon, California, United States
Gas Operations Engineer, Gas Distribution Control Center, April 2014 - Present

• Spearheaded the design, training, implementation and sustainability of a new emergency response process for natural gas distribution pipelines used by ~2150 PG&E gas operations personnel. This improved public and employee safety, by streamlining PG&E's overall response to emergencies and expediting the resolution.
• Evaluated and developed engineering standards, procedures, guidelines and specifications in accordance to the Code of Federal Regulations.

ENBRIDGE GAS DISTRIBUTION | Toronto, Canada
Senior Gas Engineering Project Leader

Niagara Construction and Operations, August 2013 – April 2014
• Supervised 5-10 person contractor crews during new construction and service installations to ensure that procedures conform to company, and occupational safety and health policies.
• Developed a business case for executive management to procure hydro vac excavation trailers to reduce operating and maintenance costs by up to $1 M annually, and increase feasibility for construction projects.

Engineering Materials Evaluation Centre, September 2012 – August 2013
• Directed company and extended alliance stakeholders to develop and implement the transition to over 250 new standardized steel pipeline materials, further enhancing the integrity of the natural gas system.
• Conducted root cause analysis of failed pipeline materials (valves, fittings, pipe and tools) classified as a safety risk, a financial risk or an isolated case. Implemented solutions to improve integrity and process safety, and prevent recurrence.
• Managed the New Product Introduction Program and ensured all new potential products and processes were rigorously assessed – based on cost, feasibility, integrity, and process safety.

Engineering Materials and Joining, August 2011 – September 2012
• Performed design and stress calculations for high stress natural gas steel pipelines to increase safety, reduce risk of damage, and increase pipeline integrity.
• Initiated and developed the training program on the installation of steel bypasses to ensure process safety.
• Co-produced polyethylene fusion procedures with Union Gas. Achieved 100% alignment of the certification procedures and performance matrix. Eliminated the risk of an unapproved procedure or tool being used in the incorrect territory.
• Maintained continuous alignment of policies and procedures – welding, material specifications, construction and maintenance – to strategic business objectives and government regulation standards.

INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE

CITY OF OTTAWA, LEMIEUX ISLAND WATER PURIFICATION PLANT | Ottawa, Canada
Water Treatment Engineering Intern, September – December 2010
• Interpreted process data and conducted trend analysis on residual chlorine and filter turbidity levels to ensure plant processes performed as designed.
• Performed fieldwork including visual surveys, collecting data, and taking photographs to update all engineering drawings.
• Conducted technical research for improved process control/process optimization, and compiled information from various sources for document and drawings preparation.

IOGEN CORPORATION | Ottawa, Canada
