Fire Protectin and Life Safety Code Consultant
Analyzed the fire protection master planning by using life safety, building, and
fire protection codes and standards such as local fire and life safety codes,
International Building Code (IBC) and NFPA 101 and NFC.
Accomplished major 5 high rise buildings projects and large-scale mixed-use
buildings, Healthcare use, shopping mall, assembly use including amusement park,
stadium and underground space structures in South Korea for fire protection and
life safety planning including means of egress, type of construction, fire
compartments, horizontal Exit, fire lifts, occupant loads and fire protection
systems
Coordinated with the local fire authority regarding the procedure of performance-based design for the local fire permit and the building permit.
Performed the fire and egress modeling (FDS and Simulex) to solve the problems by finding the alternative method for satisfying the fire protection and life safety intent of the applicable codes and standards.
Involved in the task force team for Angola, Algeria and Qatar projects and team up with foreign fire protection engineers and building architectures to the building permit from local fire authority.
Participated in Korean government-sponsored projects for revision of the Korea Building Code and Performance Based Design (PBD) of building structures.
Participated in Korean government-sponsored projects for development of the local fire and egress simulation tools
Published more than two research papers for Korean Institute of Fire Science & Engineering
