CATERPILLAR INC. (THROUGH VOLT TECHNICAL RESOURCES) APRIL 2014 TO September 10, 2015
Mossville, IL, USA
• Reviewing all engineering requests through the CRIS website: releasing new adapters, deviations and component updates, publishing 3D models, and lifting restrictions.
• Working with Corp Library team to create and publish master models for all adapters and plugs.
• Assisting Electric Road Shovels and Drill teams for Bucycrus parts conversions: identifying existing Cat part numbers, releasing new part numbers, removing the duplicates, and update the prints to meet the Cat standards.
• Being one of the main contacts for adapters and plugs design control.
• Modified the Preferred Part List (PPL) for plugs and adapters; correcting the technical details, identifying duplicate part numbers, identifying part numbers released by other Design Controls, correcting and updating prints, removing cancelled parts, adding new released preferred o-ring assemblies.
• Managing monthly Nitromation audits for plugs and adapters: each team engineer reviewing 15 part numbers to ensure everything is provided correctly on Nitromation or on the print.
• Creating PPL for Nuts and Caps released by the Adapter team.
• Working on creating a PPL for compression fittings and creating a new section for them in Nitromation.
• Reviewing and identifying duplicates and parts released by other design controls.
• Responding to daily inquiries of customers and engineers regarding adapters, plugs, ball valves, and other tube end products; such as quality related inquiries, finding the correct parts, questions about the specs, etc.
• Identifying Heavy Duty STOR adapters for possible replacing of Light Duty adapters.
• Modifying and updating tube end symbols in Creo.
• Updating CAT standards and 1E specs to industry’s latest standards.
CATERPILLAR INC. (THROUGH VOLT TECHNICAL RESOURCES) OCTOBER 2011 TO MAY 2013
Joliet, IL, USA

• Interacted with international and domestic suppliers and customers on daily basis to communicate Caterpillar’s latest engineering requirements and standards
• Performed troubleshooting and responded to urgent needs of internal and external customers such as manufacturing and dealerships
• Created cross-reference lists of Caterpillar & supplier part numbers
• Designed and modified 3D models and drawings of parts and assemblies using Pro/E
• Checked engineering drawings for model changes, engineering specs, GD&T, and torque values and created Engineering Change Notices (ECN)
• Created service parts list and bill of materials for new pumps and released them
• Created Component Design Input Template (CDIT) in Microsoft Excel
• Supported New Product Introduction (NPI) programs for a variety of Caterpillar product groups
UNIVERSITY OF IOWA SAE BAJA CAR DESIGN AUGUST 2008 TO DECEMBER 2009
Iowa City, IA, USA
• Worked on SAE Baja cars during the 2008–2009 academic year
• Designed the drive-train and rear suspension system of the University of Iowa SAE Baja race car as part of senior design project in the Fall 2008 semester
• Designed components of the rear suspension system using Pro/Engineer Wildfire 3.0
• Designed drive shafts using Pro/Engineer Wildfire 3.0
• Performed finite element analysis on rear suspension components and drive shafts using ANSYS and ABAQUS
• Fabricated the prototype CNC machined parts at the University of Iowa SAE shop
PRODUCTION PLAN OF A REFINERY COMPANY SPRING 2009
Iowa City, IA, USA
• Engineering Optimization course group project
• Applied engineering optimization techniques to design a production plan for a refinery company to meet its customer demand and maximize profit
• Formulated a design problem consisting 10 constraints and 12 design variables
• Solved the problem using Microsoft Excel Solver
• Formulated a cost function to maximize the profit without disrupting the demand for products
FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS ON A BRAKE SYSTEM ASSEMBLY SPRING 2009
Iowa City, IA, USA
• Computer Aided Engineering course project
• Simulated the performance of a brake system
• Imported the Pro/E model of a brake disc and pads assembly into ABAQUS
• Defined material properties, boundary conditions, mesh size, forces and pressures
• Solved the model to study any possible deformations of the disc
GEOTHERMAL SYSTEM DESIGN PROJECT FALL 2008
Iowa City, IA, USA
• Energy Systems Design course group project
