Major Project: Researched drug delivery methods of gold nanoparticles with modified chemical functional groups to target the mitochondria of mammalian pancreatic cancer cells. Developed method to induce apoptosis of cancer cells through non-ionizing electromagnetic radiation of the nanoparticle.
-Formulated organic functional groups and coupled the functional groups to gold nanopaticles carriers.
-Cultured cells from tissue samples and evaluated cell uptake of synthesized coated nanoparticles into cytoplasm and mitochondria of cancer cells.
