COVER LETTER

Dear Director of Human Resources:

I am writing to apply for a full-time Chemical Engineering related position at Chemical Engineer. As a Chemical Engineering (Specialization in Petrochemical Engineering) at Maharaja Sayajirao University graduated in April 2010, I am very interested in the Research & development, Process Engineer, Production Engineer of chemicals and petrochemicals Industries. I welcome the opportunity to bring my Process engineering skills to Deepak nitrite petrochemical Ltd and Technical service engineer at Tris Pharma.

As you can see from my attached resume, I developed my research and development in engineering skills through several internships and academic projects. During my internship at Maharaja Sayajirao University, I generated Chemical kinetics of aromatic nito - compounds. My supervisors commended me for my communication and creative problem solving skills, and for my ability to work well with many different people within our development team.

I developed my leadership and interpersonal skills by being an active member of several organizations on the Maharaja Sayajirao University campus.

I look forward to learning more about career opportunities at Polyurethane specialties Inc. If you have any questions, please contact me. Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,
Gaurangkumar Patel

Dissertation Kinetics of aromatic nitration
(Abstract of Research Work during Master of Engineering)
Aromatic nitration is one of the oldest and the most extensively investigated reactions. This is essentially because of its close association with the production of explosives. Despite significant work done in this area there are many anomalies which till date await a fundamental explanation. These anomalies include the sudden rise in solubility of nitro-derivatives in sulfuric acid, the formation of three-phases, the decrease in the kinetic rate constant in higher strengths of sulfuric acid etc. The objective of the present work is to make a positive effort to address these anomalies. Although some amount of work has already been initiated in the nitration of nitrobenzene, it can still be considered as a grey area with significant scope for research. The candidate reaction chosen is nitration of PNCB. The fact that nitration of PNCB gives rise to only one di-nitro derivative, makes the analysis easier. Moreover, the literature available on this system is sparse. This work is supplemented with proposing the best solvent for extraction of nitro-compounds from the reaction mixture. In addition to the above phase equilibrium measurements have been conducted in o-nitro toluene – sulfuric acid – water system to gain insight in the phase behavior of nitro-compounds in sulfuric acid. Preliminary experiments in nitrobenzene – sulfuric acid – water system suggest that there is an exponential rise in solubility of nitrobenzene in higher strengths of sulfuric acid and that phase equilibria is independent of temperature.
