Projects
1) Wisconsin Space Grant Consortium (WSGC) regional rocket launch competition 2013
As part of the avionics team, I was directly responsible for programming micro-controllers, pressure sensors, altimeters, and servos to deploy a drag-braking system during ascent based on dynamic flight conditions. The target apogee was 3000 feet.
2) Traffic control patent design 2011-2013
I worked directly with a local inventor to prototype a vehicle traffic management system which has been patented. The design involves programming micro-controllers, GPS time-keeping electronics, and multi-color traffic displays.
3) Senior Design Project 2013-2014
This is a multi-semester design/build project for the WSGC annual rocket competition to be held April 2014. I have taken a lead role in designing critical structural/avionics components, running flight simulations, and integrating micro-controller programming.
