PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
I have 22 years in the heavy industrial piping industries of oil & gas and mineral processing. I have worked on projects ranging from oil and chemical refining, processing and extraction, food processing, mineral extraction, gas and oil collection and power generation from coal, natural gas and nuclear power. I have experience in mechanical and piping design, construction and start-up.
I worked as a pipefitter/welder/detailer for 15 years, constructing power plants, food processing plants, refining, pharmaceutical batch plants, gas collection systems for landfill use and superfund sites. I have designed for 8 years working in a range of industries ranging from oil shale extraction, molybdenum processing, flotation, sulfur extraction and high pressure steam generation with refinery maintenance and process additions as well.
My designs focus on cost, constructability, maintenance and future expansion.
I have experience in mechanical and civil/structural design as well.
DESIGNER PROFILE
As a designer, it’s my focus to follow the P&ID’s as well as PFD’s to complete a working functional process system. I apply my skills to layout equipment, pipe racks, steel platforms, basic concrete concepts, pipe routing and building/ area perimeters. I take into account thermal expansion, supports, insulation and specifications. A functional plant layout with easy access to all equipment and instrumentation is a high priority.
As a checker I’m not trying to change any designs just make sure they will work. Distances, elevations and obstructions are taken into consideration as I locate the latest equipment cut sheets, mechanical layouts, structural designs and concrete layout. Locating the information on my own prevents miss information being passed down from the designer to the checker. I am a mechanical checker as well being sure all parameters are met communicating with all disciplines to be sure the team effort will work in unison.

Mechanical Designer/Drafter
