PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Marian Research Corp. – Camas, Washington, March 2004 – Present

LEAD DESIGN ENGINEER

In current development: design of digital-to-analog converter for mobile audio, using 'Jelly Bean' Android OS (including custom Linux kernel)

Design of a wideband power amplifier for an electronics manufacturer. Designed the entire amplifier, both the electronics and mechanical design. The product incorporated several original innovations in the area of analog electronics and power supply design.

Designed a state-of-the-art digital processor (over-sampling D/A converter). The project involved: developing the implemented algorithm, programming the DSP engine in assembly and design of the hardware all the way through to the final PCB layout.

Designed a wideband preamplifier. The design featured: fully balanced ‘class A’ circuitry, and advanced discrete power supplies (bootstrapped regulators).

NASA/Jet Propulsion Laboratory - Pasadena, California, December 1998 – January 2004

SCIENTIST

Staff engineer who made numerous contributions in the form of: technology demonstrations, system (and sub-system) design, testing and validation. Also performed extensive board-level electronics design; involving: analog signal processing, lock-in amplifiers, dc-dc switching power supplies and magnetic components. In addition to hardware development, a considerable amount of software was designed involving: Unix, Linux, LabVIEW and C++ programming. Projects worked on: NASA Origins Program (Space Interferometry Mission & Terrestrial Planet Finder - two major flight projects). Senior development engineer for the Keck Observatory Interferometer in Hawaii (achieved NASA/Jet Propulsion Laboratory Technical Excellence Award).

Muse Electronics Inc. – Garden Grove, California, November 1997 – October 1998
