[Employment]
Winco Inc. - Le Center, MN Oct 2011 - July 2013

Engineering Manager – 2 months
I managed the engineering department consisting of 2 other engineers and a NC programmer. I balanced scheduling and project delegation, approved and signed off on drawings, ECOs, and projects, and controlled the release of blueprints, new products for production scheduling, and factory floor functions. Time allocation was 30% management, 10% product development, 20% continuous improvement, 40% engineering support for factory functions.
• Managed personnel and projects delegating tasks and managed progress through impromptu meetings discussing progress, design issues, and any needs that I may provide; used Gantt charts and tracking of project task completion through the ERP software.
• Trained and mentored new employees instilling good design practices, focus on thorough, high quality work, and consideration for factory aspects including manufacturability, ease of assembly, how design influences cost, and choosing optimum design ideals aligning with company goals.
• Worked as a team overseeing daily plant activities with the president, plant manager, production manager, department heads, and factory personnel to meet production goals, engineering support needs for the factory, continuous improvement, and perpetuate a positive corporate culture focused on quality, communication, and sense of family.
• Lead engineer and primary contact for internal and external engineering support for factory departments, external vendors, and end customers.

Manufacturing Engineer – 1.75 years
I was the primary engineer and owner of all functions and products pertaining to portable, PTO, and air cooled standalone generator products with key focus on rapid prototype and development of new products and support of all daily activities pertaining to my product group and paint, sub-assembly, air-cooled assembly, PTO assembly, and test departments. Time allocation was 50% product development, 20% continuous improvement, and 30% engineering support for factory functions.
• I designed the PSS20B, the most powerful air cooled package standby generator Winco produces, using SolidWorks, worked with an external manufacturer to optimize the exhaust system, and performed statistical and root cause analysis on thermal and sound performance of several housing designs to minimize dB levels and maximize operating performance and safety of the heat-sensitive product resulting in a product that can operate quieter than products half its size and have nearly lossless performance within an enclosed and waterproof design. I designed, verified, and approved the product to UL2200 certification.
• I was lead engineer for the largest, single redesign effort at Winco, tasked with the redesign of the entire portable product li...
