Work Experience:
Simulation Engineer, Honda North America: Raymond, OH October ’14 – Present
CAE Analysis: Built non linear and explicit models for verification and functional goals.
Tolerance Analysis: Consulted on tolerance and datum strategies for new and production model products. Scope included predicted function, manufacturability, and assembly concerns. Support continued past initial delivery to provide expertise for revisions. Developed and introduced new methods of using the software to present a more accurate picture of the problem presented.
Fixture Design: Used tolerance and datum structure knowledge to design a lightweight fixture for simultaneous location of body fascia.
Research Assistant, NYSCEDII Driving Simulator: Buffalo, NY January ’14 – July ‘14
Implemented air moving system to reduce driver nausea.
Developed Arduino’s for small scale data acquisition, planned CANBUS for new chassis.
Created plans for integrating force feedback on to a car’s OEM inputs for realistic haptic feedback.
Identified feasible upgrade paths for future projects.
Researched new graphics API’s for better visual fidelity.
Projects:
Senior Design Project: Rotational Mass Damper September ‘13 – May ’14
Worked in a group to develop a vibration damping apparatus for industrial compressors.
Led design discussion, identified key customer requirements.
Modeled the prototypes and conducted FEA design optimization.
Created CNC tool paths using Feature CAM.
Designed PID control system for device.
SAE Mini-Baja- Collegiate Design Competition September ’10 – December ‘13
Led the design and manufacture of a carbon composite seat and overall driver ergonomics.
