WORK EXPERIENCE
University of New Mexico
July 2013 — Present
Graduate Research Assistant
* Worked on developing an ionization chamber (IC) for use in fission fragment energy measurements.
* Assembled the IC with a time of flight chamber (TOF) and then tested using high energy neutron beam.
* Used small beam pipes in conjunction with vacuum systems to pump down chambers.
* Improved resolution on the ion chamber from 3-4 % to 1.5-2%.
* Assembled detector, improved upon electronic noise reduction, and debugged detector.
* Developed electrical design to pull off timing signals from anode and cathode.
* All research done in collaboration with Los Alamos National Laboratories.

* Measured radioactive sources on various gamma-ray detecting devices.
* Assembled, debugged, and collected data on the GeMini hand-held germanium spectrometer.
* Developed a signal processing technique and equations for a high-purity germanium Compton imager.
* Worked with Dr. Morgan Burks to write programs to determine energy resolution, angular resolution, position sensitivity, and efficiency for a germanium imager.
