SUMMARY:
While working as an Energy Analyst at Metro-North, I applied my quantitative & analytical skills and research knowledge to provide assistance in FTA reports, Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), propulsion budgets, Cost of Service & Tariff Evaluation, and study the ISO-NE energy markets. I am highly organized and good at multi-tasking; I can work well under pressure and comfortable working with large volumes of databases. I am a quick learner and adapt easily to different software platforms; I can also quickly identify and address the key issues that come up in the project. I have proficient computer and software skills; working knowledge in developing quantitative models.
I have an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering and will complete my Masters in Alternative Energy in December 2015. Seeking job opportunities in areas like Energy Efficiency & Management, Energy Modeling & Financial Analysis, I look forward to building a career as an Analyst and contributing to the company’s overall performance and quality.
PROFILE KEY POINTS:
Energy Analyst (Intern) at Metro-North Railroad, May 2015 - Present
Computer Skills: Excel/VBA, Python, MATLAB, Mathematica, Latex, Working Knowledge of AutoCAD & PVSyst
Certified LEED Green Associate - January 2015
Certified Engineer in Training (EIT) - November 2014
EXPERIENCE:
Energy Analyst (Intern) at Metro-North Railroad (May 2015-Present)
Assisting with MTA agency wide Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) RFP, for diesel and heating fuel. Created detailed comparison tables to match and cross-reference the different data entries to support energy efficiency and demand management (Excel modeling).
Conduct financial analysis for FTA reports, energy modeling using Advanced excel. Develop and enhance Excel spreadsheet for FTA report (look up table, Pivot tables)
Propulsion budget: Assist with propulsion power study; assist with re-generative braking/energy storage
Evaluate NYPA Cost of Service and Tariff calculations via excel spreadsheets
Perform analysis of substation load profiles: Develop different load profiles for substations by conducting extensive quantitative analysis to reduce risks while delivering power (Excel, pivot tables, Excel VBA)
Monitor Energy Markets (ISO-NE): Conduct data collection of daily energy prices to be able to provide analytical support in managing risks in energy prices and track cost effectiveness (Excel Macros, VBA, pivot tables)
PROJECTS:
1. Ongoing Research work on – Stochastic Modeling of Complex Networks to optimize power flow in the grid structure – using Transportation Theory & Monte Carlo Simulations. Also analyze different strategies (grid connections) to be able to maintain continuous energy flow in the network (2015)
2. Solar Cells – (a) Conducted Risk Assessment analysis in implementing Solar PV Technology on residential roof-tops; (b)Presentation to the Rochester Community Board on Reviewing the New Technologies in Organic Solar Cells (2014)
3. Boundary Value Problems – Use of Laplace Equations to determine the steady-state analysis of temperature distribution, heat flow rate (Mathematica) (2013)
4. Project on Installation and Working of Stand-Alone Solar PV System Using Manually-made Solar Panels. A demonstrative method to design, manually construct and install Solar PV Panels on roof-top of a residential area, to supply to an AC load of CFLs and Fans. (2012)
5. Project on Manufacturing, Installation & Working ...
