Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC)

Facilities Management Director: Director at Naval Support Activity, Souda Bay, Greece: providing base planning and capital improvements for 100 + facilities located at two locations; airfield and port (facility value greater than $350M) that encompasses over 500 acres. Work in tandem with the Public Works Officer to manage Public Works facility operations. Coordination and communication with higher level commands for project execution, includes CNIC, CNRE, EURAFSWA, LANT and COCOM's (AFRICOM, CENTCOM, EUCOM, STRATCOM). Manage two branches; Asset Management and Requirements. I manage the Public Works budget; oversee the planning of military shops and contract work (valued $25M - $35M). Through Asset Management, provide planning and development of special projects, military construction (MILCON), demolition and base space planning / utilization. Requirements Branch providing project requirements for facility sustainment, preventative maintenance, estimates, Single Platform MAXIMO data generation, repair and restoration programs. Out year planning efforts (next 5 years) is estimated to be $50M per year. Base operation's support contracts (BOS and JOC) will average between $25M - $35M per year. I am responsible for facility master planning, feasibility studies and project management, along with all facility infrastructure; utilities, sewer, gas, water, fire protection, electrical distribution, security and power. Coordinate with NATO partners, host nation and commercial operations. I manage base and community planning efforts, these include; expansion of new air terminal, taxiway, fuels (pipeline and distribution) and apron, logistic storage facility, NCTAMS communication's center, medical clinic, transportation, roadways and housing structures. I work with stakeholders to develop thorough scopes of work and construction cost estimates. Responsible for design development, plan and specification review for project bidding and award. On-going projects are facility restorations, modifications, expansions, mechanical retrofits and infrastructure improvements to the airfield and port. NSA Souda Bay received the highest energy award given by the Navy for 2011: Naval Small Shore Award, and 2012 & 2013 Energy Water Management: Gold Level of Achievement.

National Park Service, Denver Service Center (NPS DSC)

Project Manager: Project Manager in charge of all phases of Park design and construction of projects valued at over $40M in the Southeast and Capital Regions of the National Park Service (NPS). I managed park facility projects from pre-design, schematic design, value analysis; NPS board approval, design development, construction documents and construction obligation through close out. I was responsible for all compliance activities; NEPA, Cultural, SHPO, THPO and natural assessments. Coordinated between Federal, State and Local agencies for successful project implementation. Contextual design was adhered to for facilities and grounds at parks and preserves. My workload included over 15 active projects at a time, with a proven track record maintaining project scope, schedule and budget. I lead multidisciplinary design teams (both in-house and contractual); providing leadership to engineers, architects, planners, landscape architects, contract officers and specialists. I worked on an array of park projects; from rehabilitating the Salt Pond Visitor Center in Cape Cod, MA, rehabilitating facilities, grounds and trails at Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve, LA, rehabilitating campgrounds, trails and facilities at Acadia National Park, ME, to constructing barriers and building new security gates at the White House.
