Manager of Engineering & Global Key Account Manager (2012 to Present)
• Manage up to 20 projects spanning 2-5 years at varying stages of development; review requests for new products, oversee design, testing and validation, and manage client relationships. Oversee completion of Quarterly forecast and advise management of customer and market trends for business decisions.
• Oversee a global team of junior engineers responsible for all commercial and technical aspects of account management for John Deere and Case-New Holland, AKG’s second and third largest clients with combined representation of $30M.
• Utilize application engineering software to design manufactured parts based on customer specifications and translate calculations for design in SolidWorks; collaborate with design engineers to refine product based on customer feedback.
• Test and validate products based on customer specifications; explain product features, provide feedback regarding performance, identify and resolve concerns, and make adjustments to certify the whole system.
• Built the relationship with John Deere after identifying them as a potential strategic partner; doubled the account from $7M to $14M over seven years, making them AKG’s second largest account in US.
• Designed a strategy for coordinating the management of global customer accounts in seven countries and reporting progress directly to company headquarters; traveled extensively through North America, South America, Europe, and Asia to represent AKG in business agreements and design decisions with existing and new clients.
• Led a successful transition of $2M in business to AKG Latvia production facility, including all drawings, designs, and production processes, in 2.5 months, completed 1 month ahead of schedule and saved AKG ~$200,000 in profit.
• Successfully negotiated and refuted AKG’s responsibility in global field warranty claim to less than 20% of amount originally requested, saving AKG approximately $4M; identified system failures and implemented improvements to avoid further damage, extended the life of the product and maintained the relationship with a high profile customer.
