Engineering Skills:
Microfabrication, Material Characterization, PIC microcontroller, DSP, Data Acquisition, Electrical testing, Solid Works, AutoCAD
Work Experience:
• Graduate Research Assistant, BioMEMS and Microsystems Laboratory, University of Cincinnati May ‘12 – Present
- Developing real-time data acquisition and signal processing platform using NI LabVIEW for neuromonitoring application. Worked with NI cRIO 9024 for data acquisition and real-time DSP using FPGA and Real-time controller. The platform developed will be used for simultaneous monitoring of parameters in the brain during traumatic brain injury (TBI).
- Worked on design, fabrication and characterization of MEMS based microsensors for neuromonitoring. Worked in cleanroom environment and developed electrochemical and physical sensors for neuromonitoring application using MEMS fabrication technology. Did in vitro tests for validation of the sensors using self-developed NI Labview systems.
• Teaching Assistant, Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Cincinnati Jan ‘13 –Apr ‘13
- Instructor for laboratory course on microfabrication of silicon based piezoresistive pressure sensor.
• Research Assistant, Control Systems Laboratory, NIT Silchar, India Jan ‘10 – May ‘11
-Developed state-space models of dynamic systems like IEEE 9 bus system and multiple tank liquid level systems using MATLAB. Worked on fault-detection and isolation (FDI) algorithms for detection of sensor and actuator faults in systems.
- Instructed tutorial classes on Signal Processing and Control Systems laboratory courses for undergraduates.
• Graduate Engineer Trainee, Crompton Greaves Ltd. Kolkata, India July ‘09 – Dec ‘09
- Technical Sales – LT motors division.
• Academic Projects:
o Neuromonitoring platform for different layers of neocortex , Master’s Thesis Project
- Developed a complete platform for recording signals from different layers of a rat's cerebral cortex. Fabricated and characterized a novel microneedle electrode array with different height of microneedles. Developed a real-time data acquisition and DSP system using LabVIEW FPGA and Real-Time modules.
o Smart Catheter sensor array for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
- Design and microfabrication of microsensor array on a flexible polyimide substrate for real-time monitoring changes in key parameters of the brain during TBI.
