The research objective was to determine protein interactions with actin and integrin in the mitral valve using proteomics to obtain a better understanding of the cytoskeletal regulation with focal adhesions.
•Experimental projects for analysis of cardiac valves, which included: Protein extraction and quantification, gel electrophoresis, Immunoassays, microscopic visualization of histologic specimens, protein digestion and peptide preparation for mass spectrometry.
