Water Management Specialist (June 2014 – August 2014)
Phigenics, Charlotte, NC
Audited and inspected water systems of client facilities such as the chillers, boilers, heaters, ice machines, and cooling towers of Novant Health and Duke Medical. Tested for water properties an water born pathogens. Advised facility directors on economic incentives for handling water efficiently. Lead water management meetings and informed clients on use of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points plan (HACCP). Instructed facility staff and engineers about the dangers and proper procedures for preventing Legionella.
Intellectual Property Analyst (June 2013 – August 2013)

Using previous intellectual property experience and engineering insight, developed novel ideas and businesses for intellectual property created at University of Delaware. Created business plans from products I developed and provided thorough economic evaluations of the proposed businesses and products.
Patent Examiner (June 2012 – August 2012)
United States Patent Office, Alexandria, VA
Was fully instructed on the basic statutes and assisted in examining patents and writing recommendations and reviews for accepting or denying patent applications. Set up meetings with patent lawyers to discuss possible changes to the client's patent application so that it could be approved. Assisted the supervising senior patent examiner with backlogged patent applications. Primary patents examined were in semiconductor field. Examined 10 patents over course of 3 months.
Research Experience
Undergraduate Researcher (6 Months)
University of Delaware Colburn Lab, Newark, DE
Performed mutagenesis of ecoli in a biochemical engineering lab for the examination of G Protein Coupled Receptors (GPCRs) in finding novel proteins to help individuals afflicted with Alzheimer. Performed electrophoresis of the cut vectors after ligating the cells with new vectors. Practiced OSHA certified biohazard level 2 care when handling mammalian cells.
