Manager the Maintenance department in wire mill which includes 5 salary (Mechanical Supervisor, Electrical Supervisor, Parts and Mobile Equipment supervisor, Maintenance Engineer, and a Project supervisor), and 35 union hourly maintenance people.
Assign daily work based on breakdowns, PMs, projects, etc.
Work with buying electrical power and gas for the mill.
Manage the annual Maintenance budget and capital work. Plan all aspects of July and December shutdown work.
Improve 5S in the maintenance department.
Start department into Reliability Centered maintenance. Started vibration, infrared and oil analysis.

Work in the atomizing department supervising operators, doing time sheets, ordering materials, process improvements, to help with the atomizing of steel.

5/2003 – 2008 Maintenance and Operations Manager Seward Operating, LLC, New Florence, PA
Responsibilities
Accepted position of Operations & Maintenance Manager prior to facility construction and start-up. Responsibilities included interviewing and testing, examining benefit packages, scheduling, and assisted hiring salary and hourly employees for Seward Operating, LLC (Contractor of Reliant Energy’s Material Handling section of the plant). Responsible for staffs safety, production, training and maintenance tasks from shift to shift.
Worked as part of the local Reliant team to facilitate the start-up of the newly built $900 million Reliant Energy Power Plant Boiler that utilizes waste coal and limestone helping to ensure Reliant Energy’s interests and specifications were met by the building contractor. Researched and inspected the proposed equipment and recommended improvements to minimize downtime in the material handling section. Examined PID drawings and design plans to determine all critical path equipment. Provided recommendations to create spare parts inventory.
Created and maintained the annual budget for Material handling section of the plant.
Manage all the Mobile Equipment operation and maintenance of the material handling facility, including dozers, loaders, backhoes, trucks, etc. This included the purchasing, training, operations and maintenance of the equipment. Established preventative maintenance program for all Mobile equipment.
Responsible for the Predictive Maintenance program for all the equipment in Material Handling, such as vibration monitoring, infrared testing, motor signature analysis, and lube oil sampling on all critical path equipment.
Supervise contractors working on Programmable Logic controllers, Variable Speed Drives, Communications networks, fiber cable installers, mechanical and electrical contractors, and mobile equipment maintenance.
Utilize Allen Bradley software for HMIs and PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).
Improve operation and torque range limitations on Variable Frequency Drives and motors.
Monitor plant equipment in trending and monitoring programs for changes in performance.
Maintain electronic controls and relays, including large burner controls, ultrasonic, radar, and laser measurement devices, temperature indication and transmitting devices, Beck valves and actuators.
Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders and controls.
