Nov. 2011 to Present (Currently on Furlough) Stantec Inc, Sr. Instrument & Controls Designer responsible for engineering and designs of Instrumentation and Control Electrical systems for Power Generation projects including Biomass Boiler, Steam and Gas Turbine Generator systems. Responsible for complete Instrumentation and Control Designs including Information Networking System Integration. Proficient in AutoCAD and Support Software. Developed Cad/Design Standards and tool pallet block library’s for Electrical and Instrumentation Departments.
Nov, 2010 to Sep. 2011 – CTG Engineering, LLC. Sr. Instrumentation and Electrical Designer. Responsibilities include; engineering and designs for electrical power distribution, lighting and control/instrumentation systems for Rolls Royce and Pratt & Whitney Gas Turbine Power Generation projects. Utilizing AutoCAD to produce construction documents for bidding and installation of these projects. Documents include; 3D underground raceway and cable tray plans. Power and lighting plans. Elementary, wiring and interconnection diagrams. Power and control cable schedules, and panel schedules.
Jan. 2008 to Oct. 2010 – Stantec Inc,/IEA Industry and Energy Associates (IEA was acquired by Stantec in June 2011 Responsibilities include; engineering and designs for electrical power distribution, lighting and control systems for Coke Facilities and Power Generation projects. Utilizing AutoCAD to produce construction documents for bidding and installation of these projects. Documents include; substation layouts, protective relay panel designs, power, cable tray and lighting plans; elementary, wiring and interconnection diagrams and cable, raceway and panel schedules. Also assisted the Instrument and Controls group with project designs. IEA was acquired by Stantec in June of 2010
Feb. 2007 to Jan. 2008 – Stantec Inc, (formerly Neill and Gunter) Sr. Electrical Designer in the Building Services Department, responsibilities include engineering and designs for electrical distribution, lighting, fire alarm and system design for hospital and school projects in the New England Areas. Also worked with the Industrial group responsible for the E&I design for a paper mill winder rebuild. Worked for Neill and Gunter on a contract basis during 2005-2007
Oct. 2004 to Feb 2007 – Owner and Systems Engineer for PKR Specialized Services a Computer Technology Consulting Firm. Microsoft Small Business Specialist Certification. Provided IT infrastructure design, procurement, installation, network administration and software integration services for the small business community. Supported Microsoft Server Platforms with 2-100 desktops and multiple locations. Implemented voice over IP solutions via WAN and VPN’s.
Feb. 1999 to Jan 2004 – Pierce Atwood, Director of Information Systems and Network Administrator. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer and Technology Partner. Director of IS responsibilities include the planning, direction and implementation of data and voice technology systems to support the needs of the Firm and the direction of eight fulltime IS support staff. Support staff includes, Network Administration, Help Desk Hardware/Software Support, Database Administration, and Web Development. Chair member of the Technology Group responsible for establishing technology direction and IT standards for the Firm. Also responsible for the IT budget and the procurement of technology and services.
Network Administration responsibilities includes the 24-hour day to day system administration and maintenance of the LAN/WAN environment with 20 Windows NT/2000 servers and approx. 300 users located at four sites in the US. Specify, purchase and installation of equipment and software to resolve previous downtime issues which required the complete redesign of the NT Server environment to establish a state of the art system that facilitates future technology needs. Successfully developed and implemented Y2K Compliance plans. Design and installation of technologies for remote offices including WAN technologies supporting both voice and data connectivity....
