Assistant Project Manager – Civil Engineer
Started my career as a superintendent for one of the best flooring companies in south Florida and worked myself up to assistant project manager in just six months. I dominate ‘on field’ supervision, scheduling, negotiating, and general safety precautions on site, as well as the coordination and resolution of issues with subs and inspectors. As an assistant PM I have had the opportunity to learn how to do estimation for takeoffs, prepare CO’s, PO’s, subcontractor payments, and payment applications, as well as maintaining great relationships with suppliers, GC’s and developers.

Degree Project: Capstone Design Project- “Rehabilitation of urban town, Rio Piedras”.
• Drafted in AutoCAD an As-Built of an abandoned 5 story building to verify compliance with current city codes. Using the ETABS program I helped create a model of the structure, expanding the core of the elevator and adding an additional floor to analyze the behavior of the building.
• Worked alongside a graduating group of architects from the University of Puerto Rico for the design of an 11 story commercial/residential building with a 5 story parking structure, which we proposed to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as a viable elderly housing facility. The project included meetings with the Planning Board of Puerto Rico, environmental assessments, design of a water cistern, estimates of wastewater volume, soil study, and the design of the structures and footings.
Developed cost estimates for the proposed project, which included: the construction materials for the main building and parking plus all of the professional fees and licensing. Using the RSMeans program the total budget came up to be approximately $7MM.

• Managed and supervised a group of 15 or more workers responsible for installing tile and soundproofing on all residential and commercial areas of an upscale 23 story building in Brickell Ave for a complete project cost of $28MM.
• Coordinated and scheduled all deliveries of material directly with suppliers and drivers to satisfy project deadlines.
