Increased speed of BioFire pouch manufacturing line 2-3x, working with team of engineers to identify and
resolve issue with ultrasonic welder settings, verifying and validating correct settings of welder.
Enhanced power supply cover design by changing from 3D printed ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) to
polyurethane material, and changing method of manufacturing to a cast process which increased part making
efficiency by 240 %.
Designed and machined Ethernet port mounts that allow up to 6 computers to connect to automated
manufacturing track simultaneously.
Engineered stout tensile test gripper which allows repeatable testing of screw tensile strength in BioFire
instruments.
Redesigned and updated SolidWorks parts, assemblies, 2D drawing specifications, and Composer documents
while becoming proficient in EPDM vault to track part revisions.
Designed and assembled manifold assemblies for environmental chambers and test fixtures
Programmed Epson SCARA (Selective Compliance Assembly Robot Arm) robots for automated manufacturing
track, defining input/output bits, bytes, and words for communication with PLC program; implementing limits
and offsets in XYZ ranges of motion; and creating functions commanding the robot to run through its sequence
of actions.
Created detailed instruction documents on processes of calibrating, and setting up new RC controllers with their
respective Epson SCARA robots
Accurately calibrated Epson SCARA robot joints within 1 percent error
Solved material combination problem with liquid pump head by assembling and mean-volume testing 5 - 10 part
combinations, homing in on most efficient one (0% Failure in Mean Volume Dispense testing), and
implementing it on automated manufacturing track.
Effectively documented Automated Manufacturing Track project, creating Visio diagrams for equipment and
stations which provide organized views of what the track contains, and keeping PLC instructions and tags up to
date.
Verified, validated, and investigated different instruments, parts, and assemblies for real world implementation,
documenting and analyzing test conclusions, and providing insight on failures and improvements to senior level
engineers.
