PROJECTS
Synthesis and Characterization of Cu-doped SnO Nanowires for Dual Optical and Electrical Sensing (2015)
- Doping tin oxide nanowires with copper to see if the wires can act as effective waveguides while being electrically conductive. Wires were fabricated and doped using chemical vapor transport. The presence of copper was confirmed using electron dispersive x-ray spectroscopy. Optical tests were done using a laser to determine the index of refraction. Electrical properties observed through measurement with fabricated electrodes.
Modified Flashlight Design (2011)
- Designed a modification for a flashlight to increase its utility. The modification allowed the flashlight to function as a lantern or light rod as well as produce a directed beam of light. A model of the product was created in SolidWorks and an FEM analysis was performed in SolidWorks. Modification was designed to withstand impact force without fracturing.
