Maintenance Engineer

Initial Job Responsibilities
Repaired Oilfield Equipment
Assisted maintenance technicians with repairs to equipment, to better familiarize myself with the equipment, maintenance procedures, and Schlumberger’s standards and expectations.

Re-Occurring Responsibilities
Initiated/Led Weekly Equipment Failure Review Meeting East Division
On a regular basis equipment failed while operating. Recorded, tracked, analyzed, and investigated these failures using multiple techniques to determine root causes. From these investigations remedial action items were assigned to better improve the maintenance process, send feedback to sustaining, or to ensure proper procedural adherence.
Oil Sampling Process
Helped with the initiation and transition to an oil sampling process in the east division. Responsibilities included/include processing samples, data logging, and analysis of oil sample results.
Weekly Cost Analysis
Gathered the total equipment repair cost from all districts in the east and central divisions. Combined, organized, and uploaded this information to a designated server.
Monthly Lean Steering Committee
Initiated in the Brookville district a monthly meeting to discuss lean projects with managers, shop leads, and technicians. Meeting was designed to bring awareness to lean and 5S throughout the shop, generate project ideas, and discuss project progress.

Projects
North American Land Test Pit Standardization
Worked with a group of teammates from different districts across NAL. Helped determine what would be the basic requirements for a testing facility set up in order to function test the repaired equipment prior to leaving the repair facility. Project responsibilities included research, surveys, as well as communication with different vendors, and presenting the project progress to a bi-weekly project committee.
Brookville Process Improvement
The goal of this project was to increase the throughput yield of the Brookville maintenance facility. All processes associated with the repair process were looked at. Multiple projects have been completed, in progress, or are in the process of being initiated.
Equipment Tracking
Tracked the life cycle of multiple types of test fluid ends. Tracked them by the total stroke count and the weekly maintenance done to them. Documented and sent feedback to sustaining. Initiated a process for the tracking of vortex mixer assembly’s in the east division. In close communication with technicians, exactly what was repaired or replaced was documented and recorded. This led to better life approximation of the vortex mixer which benefited sustaining and operations in terms of planning.
Reliability Projects
Authored a standard work instruction to define the proper verification procedure to test certain communication cables. Assisted with the creation of a unit specific preventative maintenance process for the east division to help eliminate re-occurring nonproductive down ...
