VOLCAN MINING COMPANY - Logistics Intern (September 2020 – November 2021)
15-month assignment in operations and supply-chain at Volcan, a global leader in the production of zinc, silver, and lead. Part of Glencore PLC (55% of controlling shares).
-Responsible for managing 3rd party contracting services for the company’s mining portfolio.
-Collaborated with Glencore USA HQ to adapt & implement global security policies to local operations.
-Managed new contractor selection process from start to finish. Included identifying new contractors, receiving
service requests, negotiating contracts, handling the bidding process and awarding contracts.
-Supported preparation of contracts and service addendums.
-Coordinated with personnel from mining units for the mobilization and demobilization of equipment.
-Managed Covid-19 protocols for personnel movement between HQ and mining units.
